Hundreds Die!!!

....laughing that is!!!

....now YOU can be in the news!!!

Hi, I'm Dave....I am an scuba diving addict and a bit of a travel junkie to boot. I have travelled to over 130 countries and have logged over 2,000 dives in 53 countries, and during those times I have had many funny and bizzare things happen to me and I have met many other divers with some great stories to share.

Nows the chance for YOU to be in the news. As part of my travel website I am publishing two online newspapers, "The Scuba Scribe", for scuba stories and "The Travel Times", for land-based travel stories.

Its the news.....with a catch!!! I DO NOT want any regular "I went here and saw some great fish" stories....I want stories that are funny....bizzare....entertaining. This is a family website, so keep them clean....well semi-clean anyway!!!

Just e-mail your story to me at dive@blue-abyss-divers.com(Blue Abyss Divers), for your scuba diving tales and for your land travel stories send your e-mail to explore@blackbeardstravel.com(Blackbeards Adventure Travel), and if its chosen, I will put it into the appropriate paper. Please try to make the stories between a paragraph and a page. Many more happy and exciting scuba diving adventures!!!

Exposed in Palau!!

A couple of years ago my boyfriend (ex-boyfriend) and I went on a scuba diving vacation to Palau. The diving was amazing. One day after diving the "Blue Corner" (my favorite dive), we were coming back on the boat. I had a huge beach towel and decided to change out of my swimsuit on the boat. I went to the front of the dive boat, there were no other dive boats around, so I asked my boyfriend to hold up the towel and I'd change behind it. As soon as I was undressed my boyfriend slipped, dropped the towel to catch himself and there I was bare-assed naked with a dive boat full of guys starring at me, I was SO imbarrassed (no pun intended). Well at least I made thier trip a bit more exciting.

Mr. Know-It-All

I'm glad I found your online scuba diving paper, because I just returned from a scuba diving vacation in Cozumel and a funny thing happened. As there many times is on a dive boat, there was one guy who thought he knew EVERYTHING about diving, talking s**t, telling everyone what to do, you know the kind of guy I mean. Anyway, we finally get to the dive site and he's going on how he wants an experienced diver as his buddy blah blah blah, then everyone rolls into the water, do our surface check and start heading down, Mr. Know-It-All is at the surface struggling to get down but he can't, he's forgot his weightbelt and didn't realize it for about 5 minutes. Boy did he get some ribbing on the dive boat back into town!

On Fire!!

I hate to laugh at other peoples pain, but we were in Aruba on a dive trip a couple of months ago. We were diving a cargo plane wreck. The wreck was great the dive was great, everyone on the dive boat knew what they were doing except for this one big guy. The first thing you must understand the wreck is covered, I mean covered in fire coral, and this guy is diving with just a pair of speedos on and his bouyancy control is so bad he rolling around the outside of the plane, his body getting completly stung by the fire coral. On the dive boat we tried to sound sympathetic, but it was all we could do from laughing. The moral is work on your diving skills, bouyancy control is important!

Killer Fish!!

We were diving on a really nice reef in Bonaire. I love to take lots of photos when I dive. I was taking a photo of this damsel fish and it attacked me. I know they can be territorial, but it didn't stop, I swam away but it kept coming at me, no one else just me. It couldn't hurt me because I had a wetsuit on, but everyone later told me how funny I looked running away from a 10 centimetre damsel fish for about 10 minutes.
